Class A
Fires involving solid materials, which burn with glowing embers such as wood, paper or textiles.
Type of Extinguisher required - Foam, Water, Dry Powder
  Class B
Flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, oils etc.
Type of Extinguisher required- Foam, Dry Powder, C02
Class C
Fires involving gases
Type of Extinguisher – Dry Powder
  Class D
Type of Extinguisher required – Special Metal Extinguisher
Class F
Cooking fats and oils as found in deep fat fryers.
